A FEW LINES ABOUT THIS LANDMARKThe Ishtar Gate was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon. Dedicated to the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, it was constructed in 575 BC by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II. The model is partly based on the reconstruction on display in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.
